"Easy wifi setup, although instructions could be better" 2010-10-01
By scampi's mom
Just got the printer a couple of days ago. Setup was easy, including the wifi setup. The instructions for wifi could've been clearer, but it didn't take long to complete the setup and have two computers using the printer wirelessly. So far, I like it!

 "Samsung ML2525W NOT compatible w/Mac OS X.6.4" 2010-09-30
By Ruth Mcclain (Memphis, TN USA)
I am totally frustrated with this new printer. After reading reviews, seeing prices, etc., ordered. Size, compactness is great, but it goes to sleep after EACH job, which means it has to either be turned off and back on, or unplugged and replugged. Probably spent close to an hour w/Samsung yesterday, and they finally admitted they are not Mac savvy; mostly pc trained. So why do they claim Mac compatibility? I don't really want to send this back; just want it to work, and would like to find a solution. At that point, would willingly change rating from 1 star.

The printer works great, was easy to set up and have had no issues with it so far. Great value at the price I paid.

"Great Printer if you don't use its prime feature--"Wireless."" 2010-09-23
By Christopher Martens (Crestline, CA United States)
I received this printer about three weeks ago. It was very easy to setup using a network connection. And once I "locked down" the IP Address my computers could always find it on the network. Great prints, very quiet and virtually silent in sleep mode.

But in "wireless" mode, the printer kept disappearing. I set it up on the network cable three times each using conventional and "ad hoc" architectures, and each time it would work for a while then stop. After repeated restarts and unpluging the power overnight, it would still not stay connected. Then, for no reason at all, it would suddenly print two days worth of qued jobs. I called Samsung and was told that they had never had anything like this happen before. And, naturally, since he was on the phone, the printer begin to work perfectly. I was then told, "If it happens again, call us and we will replace the unit. Obviously, something is very wrong with your printer."

I called Samsung Customer Service again today. Now I am being told this is, "a known issue." Yes, of course, it is because I called two weeks ago. Now Samsung Customer Service (if that is their real name) is telling me I have to carry the unit in to a repair shop more than 60 miles away. When I pointed this out the serviceman, he argues with me and tells me it's only 19 miles away according to his "database." Then I asked about the repair, his "database" didn't have the answer. When I asked if there was a new firmware upgrade, he assured me that I was incapable of doing such a thing on my own. I pointed out that their own software, running on my computer, automatically downloads and installs firmware updates (and it had done so upon first setup). Never mind the fact I've been doing this kind of work since 1983 and have a degree in the field.

In any case, I was lucking to still be able to return this item.

I had been considering buying Samsung's 55 inch LED 3D TV later this year when the 3D Movies were available (I already have their 3D Blu-Ray Player), but if this is any example of their customer service, then I need to rethink the whole thing.

 "Print paper selection" 2010-09-23
By Joseph F. Talluto (Richmond, VA)
The frustrating problem with this printer is that it does not allow the program software (e.g. Publisher)to select the type of paper to be printed. If you are printing an envelope, you must remember to go back to the printer page setup and select envelope. Otherwise the printer will print the envelope as though it was using letter type paper. And the printer remembers the last paper you used, so if you forget to change envelope to letter, your document will be printed as though you are using an envelope. Very, very frustrating. If they don't change the software this will be the last Samsung printer I purchase. Printer anyone?????Samsung ML-2525W Wireless Mono Laser Printer
