I wanted a small printer to print documents, charts, flyers but not photos. I have two Epson printers that can handle that function very well. When my Lexmar home printer finally gave out, I was in the market for another small home printer.
For a while I had been using my photo Epson printers to print documents which could get very expensive. I picked this model because it was small and compact enough to fit my needs. Not only that, it can copy and fax as well as print passable photos.
The salesman showed me 2 other models which were more expensive, had photo printing capabilities and could handle flash cards, but I was not really interested in that. I took this printer home and it was pretty much plug and play. I did have some trouble with the installation when the disc kept prompting me for files from the 5900 series printer, so I just closed the box.
After that, everything went pretty smooth. According to the manual I can get about 300 letter heads with the plain Black and White/Color cartridges and 750 pages if I choose the high-impact B&W cartridge. That's not bad at all !
One thing, this printer is rather flimsy. Everything is made of plastic so I would make sure not to drop, or bump in to it too much. The copy and print functions work flawlessly. I haven't tried the Fax yet, but if it works as advertised this might save me some time and money from constantly running back and forth to Kinkos to get my faxes over. Overall I'm pretty pleased. If this machine can hold up for about a year or so, then I can say I am satisfied.

I just purchased the printer and so far I love it. It prints beautiful pages and also prints pages very fast for a small printer. Also, installation instructions were very easy to follow. The only reason I did not give this printer 5 stars is because while installing the disc, an error kept coming up during the install, and I kept trying to correct it but it was impossible to correct. Now I know there is just a glitch in the disc because when I finished installing, my report said the install was successful and I have had no problems whatsoever. I recommend this printer to anyone looking for a low cost printer.

I bought this from officemax and paid 130 for it and now I feel screwed because amazon is only $50. Anyway, avoid this printer. You will not get as many pages printed as specified by the manufacturer. It works great for scans. Faxes I'm sure are good, but never tried it. In sum, avoid this printer. It eats up too much ink, and the cartridges are really pricey. Plus, if you buy the refill kits,they won't work as well as a new one.

Very happy with this wireless printer that the whole family's enjoying, even poolside! The price was terrific and it was delivered sooner than we had expected. Highly recommend it... now the kids will not need to use my laptop to print homework, as they can print it from each of their desks at home. From a happy mom!!!

I have also been a long time user of HP Printers. I am beginning to rethink this. I don't know if HP sees the ink cartridge market as a cash cow for them or what but I have never had to buy so many ink cartridges with their other printers. I use an eco friendly font but still seem to be buying twice as many ink cartridges with this model. I wish I had never replaced my HP 6300.
