 "Constant problems with installation" 2010-08-05
By D. A. Bentley
The HP application can't install the drivers in Windows 7, it keeps saying there is a fatal error and the software must be uninstalled and the computer must be rebooted. It's done this four times and the installation takes at least 30 minutes. Constant wirelss connectivity problem. If you were looking for budget printer look elsewhere.

 "easy setup, good quality" 2010-08-04

Nice purchase! Although my router isn`t modern the setup was quick and extremely easy. No need to try any step twice... just followed the instructions.

To my opinion, a bit slow as a copier, but the quality and the price makes up for it. Definitely recommend it!

"Brick out of the box. Don't Buy." 2010-07-14
By Eric S. Kim (La Crescenta, CA)
Locked up while trying to install, and now it's bricked. Even the power button won't work. It has happened twice with two separate computers, and on two separate printers. If you google this problem, you'll see that other users have this issue. This one stinkbomb changed my opinion of HP forever. Furthermore, it doesn't give you the option of NOT installing superfluous resource devouring programs that I would never use. I never thought HP would release such a rubbish product. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. Amazon won't let me do that, so here's a generous star for the worst technology product I've ever bought.

 "Excellent Product from HP" 2010-07-08
By M. Harris
I have never had a printer better than this. It is reliable, fast, and has great printing quality. It does everything, including photo printing, very well. My $400 printer was not nearly as good as this one. The photos are nice and clear. The printer responds well when I print things from the computer. It is quiet as well. It has not jammed at all. I have not used the wireless option, so I cannot describe how well it works. It is quiet. The copies are clear as well as the scans. It is a simple printer, and sometimes simple products work better than complicated ones. It is not bulky. The ink lasts a while. I am still on my original cartridges, and have printed 2 4 x 6 photos, and other things that require color. The price is reasonable. This is one great printer!!

UPDATE: I have tried the wireless option. Setup was easy. Response time was also great. I have read reviews stating that the wireless setup was difficult, but I found it extremely easy.

"Known Issue - Prone to locking up completely!" 2010-07-06
By usaf_drew (Middle GA)
HP is aware of an issue with the C47XX line of printers where the wireless may lock up the printer completely resulting in a bricked printer. The way this happens is during wireless setup. If the SSID which the printer is looking for is not 13 chars long, wireless setup will fail and there is a good chance that the printer will lock up and display HP logo and infinite progress bar on the LCD display. Nothing will function (some get USB fucntionality) and your printer is now bricked. When this happened to me, I immediately called CS. Their 'fix' was to issue a $140 voucher to HP shopping site for a new printer, since they already know the C47XX line is flawed with no real fix. So I happily accepted the voucher (worth almost twice as much as the printer) and went shopping for anything BUT an HP printer.

But then I decided to tinker around with my new paperweight after I got two nice 8" digital photo frames and a premium webcam free compliments of HP. Using my noggin, I figured if the problem arose from the wireless, then unplugging the wireless module inside might reset the printer. Voila! It worked and, after a few more steps, I had a fully working wireless printer again. If you are having this same lockup issue, read this thread and my procedure for fixing the lockup and getting wireless to work: [...]
