I purchased this printer to replace my Epson Picturemate. The Picturemate prints fantastic pix, but since I use it only sparingly the ink pad becomes saturated and I would get maybe 10-15 pix from a package of 100 sheets of paper and ink.
The HP A646 is a nice little printed with a small footprint (which was something that was high on my list of must haves), it's kind of "tinny" (the reason for the 4-Star rating) but since I do not plan to travel with it (it comes with a nice carrying case) it shouldn't be a problem. Pros: It's as fast as the Epson, love the Bluetooth connectivity (it works perfectly with my BlackBerry), pictures are clear and sharp, easy to set up (no CDs or software to install unless you want to), color touch screen to edit and control print functions, nice carrying bag; and at Amazon a great price and free S&H.
Cons: Like I stated kind of flimsily, no USB Cable, start up ink cartridge prints about 10 pix, and of course, dealing with the cost of HP ink.
But like I said previous, the Epson was no bargain if I only got 15 pix from their photo ink/paper package.

For someone not terribly computer savvy, this printer is great. Speed is its only drawback. A little slow if you are doing many photos. VERY easy to use.

Only used this item for a short period of time, so far so good. It copies as well as if you had them processed at a copy center. The fun part is that you can add captions or add borders to dress up the photos. So far nothing bad to say.

Printer broke at first cartridge change. Spent 30 minutes "chatting" with HP Tech that blamed me. will be taking up case with amazon.com directly but will never buy another one.
