"Be careful with the compnay you orden from "Factory Depot"" 2010-08-09
By Patty (Chicago, IL)
We bought this printer and it was defected. The color yellow did not work. Our problem was to get our money back. The company Factory Depot made us pay for the shipping and also they couldn't find the product after it was delivery to their warehouse.

It took more than a month to receive our money back and on top we didn't get the full reimbursement just part. From now on I make sure I bought all the product directly from Amazon, they are the best. When we had to return a product they do it inmediately no quetions ask and full refund of your money right away.

"DOESN'T WORK with Verizon FIOS router. Horrible customer service!!" 2010-08-08
By Petro
I bought this printer and tried to set-up the wireless network, but unsuccessfully. After calling two times to Samsung customer service and talking to two different representatives for half an hour the problem was not fixed. The girl almost hung up on me claiming that their printer is fine and I'm an idiot that can't turn off my firewall that probably causing the problem (and it doesn't matter that I have a BS in Computer Science, apparently from their point of view I'm still an idiot who can't turn it off). After researching the issue online I found out that this printer doesn't work with Verizon FIOS wi-fi router. You would guess the customer service should know about this problem, but no, all they do is trying to convince you that the problem is with your computer.

Bad product! Horrible-horrible-horrible customer service!!!

 "Not Really Wireless" 2010-08-06
By N. Deano (Pacific Rim)
Quick set-up guide was not in english. To set it up you must have a USB cable connected between the computer and the printer which you remove after you have completed set-up. If you later lose connection, which has happened, then you must reconnect the USB cable and do it all over again. If you have a desk top computer,(remember them?), then life just got a whole lot more complicated.

 "disappointing" 2010-08-03
By Roseroo (Oakland, CA)
I bought this printer because of the wireless feature and have not been able to use it wirelessly. I tried following the directions - no luck (and I am pretty tech saavy). Samsung customer service chat tried to troubleshoot it with no luck - several times. Finally told me a "product specialist" would contact me. I think that is their code word for - bail out now. Anyway, a product specialist never called. I called several times to follow-up but all I got was a rude supervisor who was of no help at all. Still no wireless capability

Also, I had to replace the color toner after like 10 pages of printing.

...this printer is cheap for a reason!

 "An engineering disaster" 2010-08-02
By Eric Fisk (Seattle, WA United States)
I just recycled this printer after suffering with it for 1 year, this is why:

Fragility- The printer hit a repeating "type 2 paper jam" after 1 year of light use, and the repair guy instantly knew what I was talking about- he says this is an extremely common point of failure for the CLP-315 series

Print quality- The printer has bad streaking for all colors and black so I suppose it needs a new printer drum, even though it's printed fewer than 1000 pages in its life

Cost per page- The cartridges for black and each color run nearly $50 a pop, so replacing the cartridges is twice as expensive as buying the printer new

Bad for photos- This printer has poor quality to begin with, and laser printers don't print on photo paper, so stay away from this type of printer if you are looking at an inkjet replacement
