"Do not buy this printer!" 2010-08-13
By Bobby Newbell
The Hewlett-Packard Color LaserJet CP1215 is not a printer you want to buy. The paper jams continually. The primitive, 1980s-type display constantly assails you with meaningless error messages. The display has a total of two buttons, one green and one peach, neither of which seem to do anything. The calibration cycles are long and random and noisy. And all of this dysfunction comes at an exorbitant price. The CP1215 seems to combine in one piece of equipment all the errors and problems with computer printers over the last quarter-century. Avoid this printer, folks. There are better printers on the market: namely, all of them.

 "fantastic product" 2010-06-21

At first I was really dissapointed with this product. It kept blurring and pixelating anything I printed in photoshop, and my other printers didn't do that. I resolved that problem by changing the resolution in photoshop from 72 to 300. That dramatically improved the print quality, giving me the crisp images I require for professional looking labels. I have no complaints thus far about the product. Pints come out beautifully. I definitely recommend this printer to people who need to print professional and waterproof labels for their small business. laser printers print dry ink resulting in water proof labels, which is a great bonus that you just don't get with inkjet printers.

 "Inexpensive, great color laser" 2010-06-06
By Alamo Mike (San Antonio, Texas)
Hp entry-level printer - inexpensive printer BUT expensive toner cartridge replacements, unless you go in for replacement toner kits.

Good print quality. Not really meant for photographs, but great for flyers, brochures, dressing up a report etc.

Yes, slow color speed, but on par for most other low price color lasers.

The bottom-mounted paper drawer only holds 150 sheets, but it does the job.

 "Good Printer" 2010-05-22

HP has price this model below cost, but have jacked up cost of replacement ink cartridge. Amazon prices HP CP1215 at around $224, cost of cartridges range $269.99 and up. Also note the cartridges that come with new printer are good for approximately 750 pages. This is a good printer, but make sure it fits your needs, and pocket book.

"Don't plan on printing envelopes fast!!!" 2010-04-17
By Anon
Don't plan on printing envelopes fast! I purchased this printer because I needed a color laser printer to print out letters and envelopes for a mass mailing. What a piece of garbage. It printed the letters slower than the 12ppm black/8ppm color and forget about the envelopes. It prints 3 envelopes, turns off for a minute, and prints another 3 envelopes. No thanks....really disappointed.

Also, the biggest problem is that it goes into "cool down mode" after printing a couple of pages. If you need to do heavy duty printing (or any printing for that matter) and have time to sit near the printer all day then this is the printer for you :) If you have more important things to do then I'd suggest getting another printer. Im sticking with my Brother HL 2170W until I find a decent color laser printer.

ps I looked up ink on this printer and it costs $275???? HP is out of their mind putting out garbage like this.
